This is one of my favorite stories that I’ve ever told you!!
Welcome to BURUNDI, country #186. This East African nation is overshadowed in many ways by its neighbors of Rwanda, Tanzania, DRC and Uganda — but there is SO MUCH life happening on these streets, nothing more impressive than their insane drumming skills!
Today, I drove 3 hours from the capital of Bujumbura to a small village called Gishora to witness the drumming culture where it all started. In fact, they claim to have invented the drum here way back in the day (made of wood and cow skin), and they are expert drummers to this day. It’s a full production of dancing, singing and … carrying drums on their heads? It’s much harder than it looks!
Here is the full story, which I hope you enjoy — I stayed up all night editing this one cuz I am so excited to share 🙂
This is Africa at it’s finest.
