THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I’VE SEEN PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIVING IN HOBBIT HOLES. And it’s one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever experienced!
The Southern Spanish town of Granada (a seriously beautiful city) is surrounded by brown hills. If you hike up the hills, you will find a touristy community called Sacromonte. If you keep hiking up like 15 more minutes, you will find about 40-50 free-spirited travelers and modern hippies who are living in small caves without electricity or running water. I spend a few hours here today, speaking with several “locals,” and it was incredible to hear about their alternate lifestyles.
This reminded me a lot of Auroville in India and Arcosanti in Arizona. This one, though, was the most shocking to me.
