THE MAN OF MOGADISHU (why he never left)

Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to Bashir Osman, who in my opinion, is THE man of Mogadishu. He is the owner of the hotel I am staying at, called Peace Hotel, and the reason why I find his story to be so inspiring is because he has never left his home to live elsewhere.

As you probably already know, Mogadishu has been in a constant state of civil war since 1991, and many Somalis have left for a safer life abroad. But not Bashir. He has toughed out the most dangerous days in Mogadishu, and is very optimistic what the future brings to his city.

This is my last video in Mogadishu, and I would like to say on a personal note that this has been an incredible trip and I will certainly be coming back here very soon. The people that I’ve met over the last 4 days — every single one of them — was so friendly and welcoming to me and I have nothing but good things to say in the future. Thank you guys for watching my videos here and I will see you tomorrow in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo!
