The Biggest Fish in India? (Chennai Fish Market)

My alarm rang at 3:30AM this morning to see some fish at the Chennai Fish Market. I jumped in a taxi and headed to the Chennai Fish Market — one of the biggest fish markets in India — to catch the wholesale auction…. and the fish were HUGE!

Over the years, I’ve enjoyed going to fish markets across Asia, from South Korea to Hong Kong to Japan… but I’ve never seen chaos like I’ve seen this morning in Chennai.

It’s crowded. It’s grimy. It’s loud. But it’s all part of the experience, and I’m excited to share it with you in this video!

Would you ever go to an early morning fish market? I highly recommend it for a different travel experience.
