Perhaps the most noticeable (and beautiful) thing about the culture of Burma (Myanmar) is the white/yellow paste on people’s faces — mostly women and children — and it’s seen everywhere!

This magical stuff is called THANAKA and it’s been around in Burmese culture for over 2,000 years. It’s essentially a natural paste that is derived from a very specific tree bark, and it really enhances the beauty of the people here!

Have you ever heard of thanaka before? This is one of the MANY reasons why you should add Myanmar to the top of your bucket list — this country is truly amazing inside and out!
