Could you imagine growing up, 20 years ago, without having TV or the internet?!
In Bhutan, they didn’t introduce TV or the internet to its citizens until the year 1999 — making them the world’s last country to do so.
While that may seem like torture to many people reading this, the Bhutanese see it in the opposite way.
They simply don’t want to be a victim of modernization. They are afraid of globalization. They are happy with their traditional way of life that has been practiced for centuries and centuries.
And as a result, they are ranked one of the happiest and greenest countries in the world. Anyone else see a pattern here?!
