On this lovely Christmas Eve, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to a young man named Shabani. I met him earlier today on the streets of Bujumbura, Burundi, and his story is just about as inspiring as they come!
Shabani grew up poor and with 2 functioning legs. About 10 years ago, he had a medical problem which has caused him to be in wheelchair forever… But that didn’t stop him from giving up, it only gave him more motivation. He began selling airtime (phone credits) at a busy intersection in the city, and worked his way up to doing $16,000 USD of business a month. He recently bought himself a piece of land, built a house, and has bigger plans for his future.
This is a story of never giving up, and I can’t wait to follow up with Shabani the next time I’m in Burundi!
If anyone wants to send a message to Shabani or wish him a Merry Christmas, please write it below and I will show him the comment section of this video later!
