Today I caught up with Basel (AKA The Hungry Syrian Wanderer) and heard his touching life story.

In 2013, when he was a teenager, he was forced to leave his home in Syria due to war. His neighborhood was completely destroyed from bombings. His parents pushed him to move to the Philippines to start a new life, and although it was difficult at first to immerse into Filipino culture, he has become a successful vlogger and entrepreneur and has a very bright future ahead.

This is a story of courage. A story of determination. A story of bravery.

Hands down to Basel for all that he’s done, despite not seeing his family in the last 7 years.
