I’m glad Sayed reached out to me on Instagram when I came to Reykjavík, Iceland, because his story is very inspiring and needs to be shared with the world.
Sayed himself is a refugee from Afghanistan, who has gone through a very rough childhood that I wish nobody has to experience.
He was forced to flee his country at 14 after the Taliban destroyed his school, killed his uncle and paralyzed his brother.
Eventually, he made his way to Iceland (via Turkey, Greece and Holland) and he was just granted asylum here for 4 years. Awesome news!
But perhaps the most inspiring thing about Sayed is how he strives to help other innocent refugees seek asylum and assimilate into Icelandic society, because he is a giver.
This guy really has a heart of gold, and I can’t wait to catch up with him the next time I come to Reykjavík.
