Do you believe in evolution? Or think that us humans evolved from chimpanzees? I do!!!
I’ve been skeptical about evolution all my life until this morning, when I hung out with the chimpanzees in Uganda’s Kibale National Park. They are our closest living relative, sharing 98% of our DNA, and you wouldn’t believe how similar we are to them until you see how they act in real life!! Way more so than the mountain gorillas I saw yesterday.
The way they sit, the way they talk, the way they eat, the way they shake hands with each other, and the way they look at you is the strangest thing in the world. Not to mention, every detail in their hands, feet, eyes, mouths and bodies are almost identical to ours!
Our group was lucky enough to be surrounded by a massive group of chimps (20+) and when the “boss” came running in… I witnessed the whole group of chimps jumping up and down, running around, screaming their heads off and swinging on trees. I was scared sh*tless at first, but eventually came around to embrace their presence and realize they will not harm me.
In my humble opinion, I recommend seeing the chimpanzees 10X over seeing the mountain gorillas in Uganda (+ the permit is a LOT cheaper). If you have any questions about seeing the gorillas or chimps in Uganda, please let me know and I’ll get back to you!
